marius liddle

Marius Liddle

Marius is a proud Arrernte person living on Kaurna Country. Having grown up in the Riverland, Marius values the inclusion and diversity of regional representation in the economy and maintains connections with the various regional communities throughout South Australia and beyond.

With 15 years’ experience working in the South Australian Government, Marius has a deep understanding of the mechanisms and relationships of the public sector, while at the same time appreciating the vital role of public-private-community sector partnerships. His work in the State Government included successfully developing and managing First Nations employment projects in targeted growth industries, regional and remote First Nations housing asset program support, and policy development through a cultural and commercial lens.

In 2018 Marius moved to the private sector where he led the recruitment, training and business regionalisation of a growing First Nations NDIS organisation. Following the successful delivery of that project, he then established his own business and now works directly with clients as a consultant.

An engagement specialist with demonstrated experience working with corporates, governments and communities, Marius has worked with diverse audiences to ensure authentic representation and a strong stakeholder voice in the projects and reporting he has managed. Examples of this can be found in his recent work with the Umoona Tjutagku Health Service and Yadu Health Aboriginal Corporation where community input is helping to shape a community-led decision-making model.

A strong advocate for development and improvement, Marius enjoys challenging himself and is currently studying for a Master of Business Administration at the University of Adelaide. Marius also co-authored an academic article recently, ‘Examining the Effectiveness of Culturally Safe Mental Health Interventions on the Wellbeing of First Nations Youth: A Systematic Literature Review’, which aligns with his view that cultural safety must be properly represented in mental health services for First Nations youth.

A proud father to his children, Isabella and Sebastian, Marius enjoys spending time with his family and exploring regional areas.

Past

Work

SOUTH AUSTRALIAN STOLEN GENERATION ABORIGINAL CORPORATION

Contracted by SASGAC to deliver a highly complex and sensitive project, we worked with SASGAC members and other Stolen Generations Survivors to engage, collate and analyse data that related to:

  • How SASGAC can represent Stolen Generations Survivors and their families;
  • What resources are, and could be, available to help SASGAC achieve those goals;
  • Additional support for Stolen Generations survivors

We also managed the development of the SASGAC website, survey creation and stakeholder identification to ensure that as many people as possible were engaged in the process.

minya project

MINYA BUNHI CHILDCARE CENTRE

Recently we worked with Minya Bunhi Childcare Centre to provide input for their corporate restructure. An organisation based in a regional location providing important community focused childcare services, our approach recognised the value that the dedicated staff offer and how the organisations unique connections to First Nations communities maintained social value and participation.
